R.I.P........Ernie Johnson, Sr

Seems.....a lot of folks are passing away lately....

We first met Mr Johnson....."Ernie, Sr.".......back in the 70's.

The days of Milo Hamilton......Ted Turner......And the future voice of the Georgia Bulldogs...one....Larry Munson.

Remember that?

Ernie, Sr.......was the ultimate professional....Much like his son today...Ernie Johnson, Jr.

Ernie, Sr......has passed.....He will be missed.   Our prays ........as always....are with .....his family.

Johnson Sr., longtime Braves voice, dies at 87

Ernie Johnson Sr., long-time voice of the Atlanta Braves coverage and a member of the team’s Hall of Fame, died Friday night following a lengthy illness. He was 87.

He is the father of Turner Sports announcer Ernie Johnson Jr.

Verne Lundquist will replace Johnson Jr. on TNT’s coverage for the remainder of the PGA Championship.

In a statement, David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., said, “The Turner Sports family is saddened by the loss of Ernie Johnson Sr. He was an iconic voice who helped create a national fan base for TBS’ baseball coverage of the Atlanta Braves. Our deepest sympathies to his wife Lois, his children Ernie Jr, Chris and Dawn, and his grandchildren.”
