A World Series.....To Remember

Great games...great series.

Despite itself......Major League Baseball may have gotten it right.

In  a World Series....which did not include any of the "big 4"....(New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, and the Atlanta Braves).....

The Rangers and the Cardinals gave us great memories in playing great games.

Too bad one team had to lose.....

Today's headlines.......From Missouri and Texas:

"I Love Me ...Some Me".....

Terrell Owens does love him some me.....Himself.

Well his workout yesterday attracted......zero teams.

He may very well love himself......but  no other NFL team shares his love:

From TMZ.com:

Terrell Owens
Topless NFL Audition
In Calabasas

Terrell Owens just completed his "Please give me an NFL contract" workout at Calabasas High School ... running drills and catching passes, without the restrictions of a shirt.

Sources at CHS tell TMZ ... Owens didn't look too bad, but former NFL receivers Jerry Rice and Keyshawn Johnson were on hand ... and weren't very impressed.

37-year-old T.O.is hoping his workout will draw the interest of an NFL team, willing to take a risk on a guy who just underwent a major knee operation.

Synthetic Marijuana? Suspensions?

Only in the SEC......#1 ranked LSU has a problem.   Seems three of their star players have been busted for testing positive to .....synthetic marijuana?

Synthetic marijuana?   As opposed to .....just an old fashioned "Mary Jane"?  A joint?

What's the world coming to?

We were at a loss as to what exactly synthetic marijuana is....so we did our research.

From JJIE.org:

Source: LSU Players Face Suspension for Synthetic Marijuana Use

Three Louisiana State University football players have been placed on suspension after testing positive for synthetic marijuana, a source told the New Orleans Times Picayune.

Running back Spencer Ware along with cornerbacks Tyrann Mathieu and Tharold Simon will be suspended for Saturday’s game against Auburn University, and possibly longer, according to the unnamed source.

The story was first reported by LSU’s student newspaper, The Daily Reveille.
Worried fans have been voicing their concerns on message boards and forums around the Internet. The suspensions come about two weeks before No. 1 ranked LSU is set to take on No. 2 Alabama.

Synthetic marijuana use has been on the rise among athletes in recent years, according to a report by Sportsology.com, due to the absence of THC and the player’s ability to pass a drug test after use. But both law enforcement authorities and drug test technologies have been adjusting to the trend.

what is synthetic marijuana? Click to learn more.

LSU’s athletic department and head coach Les Miles have yet to release a statement about the suspensions, but if the initial reports hold true this would be the first instance of a player’s suspension based on a positive drug screen for the substance.

Miles has referred to the matter as internal. He was quoted by the Picayune as saying only that, “I’m not inclined to be forthcoming in information. I’m not reactionary to needs of media and things external to this building. There’s a process I go through, and it’s not going to be shortcutted for the need to communicate. When there’s information that I can share, I will. I’m doing this for the best of our football team, to maintain a deportment and procedure that I’m true to and a process I’m comfortable with.”

As JJIE reported, in November 2010 the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) added five variations of synthetic marijuana to the official list of illicit drugs, placing a ban on the drug nationally. While the DEA effectively banned what officials considered the five most dangerous compounds, there are alternatives. Similar compounds that are still legal produce comparable effects, and manufacturers wasted no time in making the switch.

Many states, including Louisiana, have taken up more extensive bans on the substance.

When it comes to college football, however, synthetic marijuana -– also known as Spice, K2 and Black Mamba -– is already on the National College Athletic Association’s banned substance list. Regardless of state or national law, players can still face suspension under the ban.

R.I.P........NBA

The....."Association"......is dead.

We told you this 3 months ago when the lock-out began.   Greedy players plus clueless owners.....equals....disaster.

The players were used to getting paid.....The owners foolishly paid guaranteed contracts to guys who were out of the league in 2 years.....but were still getting money for 4 to 5 years.

The owners were stupid......the players.....stupider.....if that's a word.

Bottom line....the up coming season is in jeopardy.....2 weeks have already been wiped clean off the slates.

We are mad.....but we have options.

The NFL......College football......Hockey.......Just kidding about Hockey....but....

The average sports fan has a limited amount of disposable income to spend.

The NBA should take a hard look at themselves....

We're mad......but ......we told you so.

The...."Lion Kings"???

Okay...okay...ok.

We believe ......for now.   The Detroit Lions are for real.   Two years removed from an NFL record of futility.... (0-16)....

These Lions may be Kings after all.

We are excited for the people of Detroit.   Political scandals...  unemployment....crime...has left this city close to ruins.

I have visited Detroit....Detroit deserves....well some good things to happen.

So....Detroit....we're on the bandwagon as long as you will have us.

Congrats:

Stupid is....What Stupid Does....

Hank Williams, Jr..........

Another white man...speaking his ignorance......and thinking he can get away with it.

Like or dislike....President Obama.....

Respect the office.....of the president of the United States...

Kudos.......to ESPN

From TMZ.com:

By John Raoux, AP

ESPN has dropped Hank Williams Jr. from opening Monday Night Football tonight after Williams controversial comments today about President Obama.
Monday Night Football
Hank Williams Jr. Benched
For Comparing Obama to Hitler

Monday Night Football will not begin with the words, "Are you ready for some football" tonight -- ESPN is yanking Hank Williams Jr's famous theme song after he compared President Obama to Hitler.

Williams Jr. went on Fox & Friends this morning and criticized President Obama and Speaker of the House John Boehner for playing a round of golf together -- saying, "That's like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu."

He later said Obama and Joe Biden are "the enemy."

ESPN told CBS Sports -- which broke the story -- "We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast."

A Win....is a Win.....

So.......Georgia wins again.....against an SEC rival.....

It was not pretty.....but it was a win.

The Georgia defense.....once again...pitched a shut out...

However.......the offense?

Aaron Murray needs to stop thinking he's ...one Matthew Stafford......3 more picks?

Note to Aaron: "Your arm strength ......is no Stafford.  Quit trying to force the ball."

All in all......the "dawgs" have won 3 in a row.  Not bad...

In the SEC......a win...is a win.

Georgia starts fast, defeats Mississippi State
